im just doin a mock up on my mk1 rear disc conversion !! i seem to have everything i need !! all mk2 set up, but i cant seem to get the back plates to fit, am i doing something wrong ??? has anyone got any pics ??? any help would be great, cheers

did you get new back plates? vw list 2 types for a mk2, early up to '88 ish an late '88 on. the early ones aren't made right by vw! one should fit but the other isnt a mirror image of it. I re drilled mine where they bolt on, or get the 90's spec ones they're made right. Cant think why else you'd have trouble with them. hth.

an yeh owain rocco cables fit ok, do it! an if you get stub axles off a late 4 stud ibiza/polo you get a mk4 golf style set up with a seperate wheel bearing an disc, easier to change an cheaper to buy discs for

i was just gonna use the back plates i got with the setup !! i bought a full rear axle off a mk2 but they just dont fit flush they seem to catch the arm !! i rang the dealer and they jus point blank said they no longer list them !!! ive seen pics of some ppls and they didnt fit the back plate !!
