frikking robbers!!

hey all girl in work just told me shes been quoted £600 from pentraeth to change the cambelt and do an 80k service on a 04 golf tdi. does anyone think this is a rip and where woul be cheaper thanks

LOL what a joke, i am getting a new headgasket on the VR6 with all other gaskets and parts renewed and a full 20k service (@118K) with nearly every servicable engine part changed for less than £500 with PSI tuning.

They're seriously dear ! When i got my vr corrado the other month the previous kept all recipts, he took it to pentraeth from new untill last year, for servicing etc, my god you should see the bills 500, 1000, 750 for couple of hrs work, totalling 16k in all, gezz they seriously rip people off. Makes you ask if its worth it just for a stamp, thats the only reason I take my mk5 there. Any work that needs doing i take it to my brother's garage.

the service pricelist on the wall is enough to give you a coronary.

If anyone wants a good garage on the island try Prestige Car Care at Star Crossroads where star carpets an peninsula windows are.. I used to work there for a couple of years, they're known as BMW specialists but are also VAG specialists an will do any make.

When I was there labour was 25 +vat so not bad an shouldnt have changed much.

yea just cant understand why its so dear broken down its like 400 for the belt to be down and 2 hundred for a service but if these garages are really needing business then surely they gotta lower their prices

I had full service, cambelt change etc.. but done super fast in one day for me :p and I paid 600

yea thanks all guys i ll phone all those numbers this week for her, trying to save her a few quid as she dont have a clue, she bought the car from the auction and gave the guy who went to get it for her a £1000 for his trouble, couldnt believe it
