| Just a quick question
The prices ive been getting have been for a provisional driving license, with modifications declared
So when i pass if i dont have provisional insurance will it be more likely to be cheaper ?
And finally if i was to convert my engine to a GT would i need it declared etc to drive to germany ?
Thanks Luke | |

| i think insurance will be more expensive when you are unsupervised. are you adding another name on the ploicy as a supervisor? maybe i could be wrong and this will be your first years premium
to inform dvla all you need do is change the engine number and CC on the V5c and
insurances work in different ways re engine mods - some ask for engineers reports that the vehicle is able to handle the extra power eg brakes etc etc - other just take your word for it (these are the ones that will try to widdle out of a claim)
to drive to europe you will need european cover, you need to ask if your insurer does this when taking the policy out, and to be covered in any country the engine mod would need declaring not just for germany (???? why do you stipulate germany)

| the fiddle with prices is to add a female, mature driver - dont bother with the males.
bell direct used to be a good un, also has a 10mth bonus acelerator, thing with insurers you will find that most are the same company
admiral bell direct shielas wheels elephant
are the same company, but the prices vary from each one.. weird..
the way i was taught years ago was when ringing around (yes years ago) was to look for the postcode on the advert in the yellow pages and if its in the same building its the same company lol... now its obviously a bit easier with the compare sites

| If the car was a 1.3 to start with then you can get away with it. but on a 1 you would need to declare the change and thats when this happens but saying that the engines do look very similar... and if you did crash you would have to be very unlucky to get a insurance inspector that knew the difference between the engines. but still you should still declare it as you would with any modification.

| Driven allsorts of cars over 10 year and never declared anything on insurance, maby some wheels thats about it. Drove a 2l 16v nova without declaring it while it was down as an sr. If you do, then obviously your premium is goin higher. | |

| worst thing is when you buy a car thats already been converted and the ex owner has done it all by the book - like mine ... but the cost is negligible at about 350 i think lol | |
