is it possible to put a mk3 engine (gti). in a mk 4 golf . cos the mk4 engine is crap (1.4 16 v ahw)

anything is possible.

you would need the loom, clocks, keys - maybe even the fuse board (whole cars loom)..

id say not worth the hassle and resale would be impossible.

all mk4s are slow even the turbos - its the nature of the beast.

its not just that the engine was crap its now f***ed ,no compression . need some sort of replacement.???

id go direct replacement, i wouldn`t even upgrade to a more powerful engine as with that you would have to do the brakes, suspension (are std mk4s rear drums?) gearbox, maybe fuel pump.

no point building what you can buy, fix it with the same engine or sell it spares repairs.

im sure you can scrape up the same engine again for allmost peanuts, cant imagine their too costly nooo.

Yeh I won't bother, just get another 1.6 in and save up and buy a faster car
