| I have been offered one but I don't know much about them. What are the common problems with them? and what should I look out for when buying one?. Just going to get an insurance quote to see how much it would sting me. | |

| Coil Pack tends to go, quiet a common coil on VWs of that age.
Struts normally fail around 80k
Early ones rust on the bottom and on the sills.
If looked after they are pretty good. | |

| It's a Golf, it looks pretty solid. It's my girlfriends Dad's car so he knows a decent car. I bought my Mk2 off him so he is fairly reliable. I had an insurance quote form Admiral for the multicar stuff. Me and my girlfriend driving the Beamer and the Golf for £126 a month. | |

| sills struts engine oil sensor leaks lower wishbone bushes rear bushes heater resistor switches (for the blower motor) coil pack's especially 8v's thats it theyre usually without theyre problems if theyre looked after like every car abviously parts will wear out its just up to the owner to maintain them or when you buy it change some of these parts and you will have a car that will run for manyer year yet B) | |

| Cheers everyone I will go and have a proper look at it tonight. When I have been in it before it sounds like a dodgy bearing on the rear. It's just very noisy but never mind I kind of want the car for a project/cruising mobile anyway. | |
