| I'm with DirectLine, and it cost me £800 3rd party with my mum as the main driver and she's been driving for 10+ years with 10+ years of NCB and tmy Mk5 Polo is only a little 1000cc lol, I don't dare concider any mods yet, unless they can easily be replaced back to stock, if I ever have a ding so wheels etc I am going to do, but nothing mechanical. | |

| Congrats on passing the test! I'd also suggest checking out Esure.. they HALVED my insurance with Admiral.. And Joey.. the great thing about VAG is.. if you use VAG parts to mod the car.. technically.. they're OEM It's why if/when I change me rims I may stick with VAG ones, hehe. I belive that's even a modding scene in Belgium.. OEM modifying where you're only allowed to use OEM parts.. with a little leeway on bits and bobs. | |

| hence why so many people upgrade from other models, you find what parts are interchangeable and use them, best example is a mk3 Golf intake elbow is a direct fit for the mk3 polo frying pan filter housing and also gives you a easy option for fitting a induction kit.
so technically VW make a induction kit elbow for the MK3 polo. hahaha

| And they probably foresaw all this, too! All that German ingenuity! .... or maybe I've just seen too many WWII documentaries? | |

It's why if/when I change me rims I may stick with VAG ones, hehe. Erm, okay, so if put some r32 rims on my car,you reckon this would be fine with my insurance? i think not. if that was the case, then hey, i'll fit the r32 motor in aswell, after all, its oem. i really dont think insurance companies are that laid back. pretty sure that if it wasn't fitted to the car when it left the factory then its a modification. whether or not the insurance assesers can spot subtle mods is different question. Just be carefull thats all, if they spot somethin that shouldn't be there, then your insurance will be void, and they won't pay for jack sh*t if they don't have to.

| Well we can always exaggerate it..
A change in engines would result in a change in KW/BHP which either way, has to be declared.
If I change my rims to RS6 Audi rims.. I don't declare it.. for all they know, it was an option.
Even had it over the phone. Forgot the exact question, but I ended saying that yes, I had alloy rims but they had the Audi badge on so "to the best of my knowledge" they were standard.. the guy said okay, and that was that.
Just be smart about out it, that's all.
And gutted about the Esure quote.. that's insane! rofl.

| All I had in mind was replacing the standerd Polo Grill with a honeycomb, adding a splitter to my front bumper, along with front fog lamps, and sticking some GTI alloys on it | |

| Sounds good to me VAG cars usually take well to simple mods. | |
