but what i dont get is why he painted it all nice the then remade if from fiberglass, bit of a waited effort realy, yes it needed painting to get it smooth, but the primer would of been sufficient for fiberglass

I thought the same, I just thought that he was spraying it red and then put some more pictures of the built after it. Strange way of doing things but maybe there was method in his madness.

maby making it out of fiberglass was an afterthought lol.

i dont understand why he used fiberglss over wet lay carbon, after all it`s not to much more money and it weighs loads less

Maybe it was easier to take away the fibreglass cast off a laquered surface? He looked pretty minted from what he was doing to that car, so maybe a cheap £500 re-spray is what was needed ... Ok I'm moidering, yeah - why did he spray it?!

come to think of it it probs would have been less work to build a space frame from scrach rarther than start and just cut away bits of the mk2 as he went along :S

i found a rwd jetta in that thread, its very nice
