what sise steel should i use thankss??

ive gt 2mm mild stteel wd tht be ideal or not....?

I will be welding as much as possible and use as little filler as i can get away with. Thats the best way i think.

yeah definate weld plates for engine bay, what bay are you smoothing the a3?

dont need a hoist m8, just been looking at your project thread, you already got the front end off, all you gotta do is jack it up from underneath and slide it out. or you could move car forward and jack it up as high as posible, then put heels under the engine, disconnect it all then lower car down wich will leave engine in place. is easier with someone to help steady things but ive done it on my own before!

yea i was thinking just raise it nd plonk the subframe and suspension onto trollyy, but i dnt have one ha ha,

i got the engine out of my camper like that. on gravel with a tiny halfrauds trolly jack, was wobling everywhere, but came out no problem. i just layed a sheet of ply on floor so i could pull the jack out with engine sat on top of it! afro

yeah, an 8v aint that heavy really. well, unless your laid undearneath it, then it gets very heavy very quick cyclops

my mates polo gt engine nd gearbox fell on my hand wen wewere taking it out lmao faking hut like a nmother bich haha, luky it was mud under my hand lol
