| Hey peeps!!
What it is my brothers A3 1.8T (my old one) has developed a misfire now and again, it doesnt happen all the time but it is very noticable when it does happen. Also the engine management light has come on, possibly connected with the missfire??
I know these engines suffer from coilpack issue's but was just wondering what else could it be??
If anyone has a Vag-com we could use to check it out? just incase its doing damage to the engine, and so on...
Cheers!! | |

| Mines the same.
Started missfiring last night.
I've ordered a new Ignition Amp for mine, they are known to go on the AGU engines.
What engine is yours? | |

What engine is yours? they tend to go if you have changed the airbox for a cone filter (cause theres sum sort of am on the airbox that needs to be cooled by air flow, these are only on the agu codes for some reason lol

| Heard from a reliable source that the coil pack seals trap air in the spark plug tube, as engine temp rises the air in the plug tube expands and pushes the coil pack away from plug causing missfire. The solution to this is to cut very small 'v' notches in the rubber coil pack seals allowing the trapped air to escape. This worked on a mates Octavia vrs. Maybe worth a try. | |

| Found out today from my brother that it was the coil packs on cilynders 1 & 2, pentraeth stock them dont they??
dumb question, if you just replace the old ones with the new, will i need anything to wipe the coeds or will the ecu do it itself after fitting the new ones???
