hey im putting a 5 speed off a polo 1.0 too how easy is it to swtich boxes?

i have someone that can sort the likages for me

been out servicing on the cambrian rally today(saturday) both cars made it to the finish, so a good result

maximum weld-ige happening tomoz on the E30, cage going in soon. busy busy busy!

Sent the adaptors to the engineers, put the car on axle stands, started polishing engine components and now going to try to take off the front shocks to replace the adaptors!

Hmmm, not to sure on the Mk1 Polo. But on the golf you need to make up a new gearbox mount using 1/2 a golf one and 1/2 the original polo 1. Needs welding together. Think the linkages are pretty straightforward, just need to take a plastic shim from bellow the gearstick to allow it to move over far enough to engage 5th and reverse.

I'll let you know when I do it

Just found a possible donor car - need to sort a price and beg the mrs for some cash. lol

I always hated BMW's for the way they just sit right on their wheels, as standard... it's like.. if Beemers can do it.. why can't other car manufacturers? Grr.

the red one before it was caged and diff'd went well didn't it? now that engine is going in the lighter pre-facelift shell
