So spent a lovely 12 hours today getting my paint back in order. To be honest, the paint wasn't in terrible condition considering the harsh winter we had. It just required some rejuvenating and minor swirl/scratch repair.
Wash solution: Zymol auto wash in a bucket with a grit guard
Dodo juice born slippy with Sonus fine clay
Autosmart tardis
Weapon of choice: Kestrel DAS-6 PRO
Menzerna polishing and finishing pads
Lake country polishing and finishing CCS pads
Menzerna Power finish (203S)
Menzerna final finish
Poorboys black hole glaze
Zaino Z5
Zaino Z-fx flash cure accelerator additive
Zaino Z8 grand finale spray seal
Auto Glym HD wax
Door rubbers and seals: Gummi Pfledge and sealed with Aerospace 303
Interior plastics: Poorboys natural look dressing
windows: Auto Glym car glass polish with rainx as a sealant
Engine bay: Chemical guys orange degreaser and Mer vinyl gel to protect
So I got to work with washing and then claying. Surprisingly not much came off the panels.
Only tended to be the lower door panels as usual but even those weren't too bad.
Only noticed 2 small tar spots too that tardis soon shifted. So washed the car again and dried using a plush detailing towel.
The defects that were plain to see looked like this
but these were only in patches around the car.
The bottom part of the panel here had been polished over the 2 stages compared to the top halfs 1 and already can see the difference in the clarity of reflection.
And some reflection porn after shots
And my latest sticker....
Apologies about not having many photos pre correction but the camera phone didnt really seem to want to pick them up and I just wanted to crack on with it all as I knew it would be a long day.
