I use chemical guys orange degreaser, just be careful if you use it neat as it will remove paint. Water it down 50/50 and spray the area, brush the product in with a tooth brush then wash away. Use some chemicals guys new look trim gel on black pipes and plastics. Wax any paint surfaces.

An airline is great for blasting bits out but I didn't have access to one at the time.

sounds like your mk5 needs a good claying
believe it or not the auto glym bug and tar remover is good before clay and it also removes wax from the car

always remove the tar before you clay it will rip apart your clay bar otherwise , for clay lube i just use some water with a tiny bit of car shampoo in it its a fraction of the price and works just as well

cheers Smile

if anyone has considered it... industrial solvents aren't a good idea!

I painted a 60mm square of metal with primer, basecoat and CHEMICAL PROOF LACQUER and then tested it a couple of days later against some '3M scotch weld solvent no.2'... needless to say it wiped away to bare metal as if it was grease in one wipe...

Stay away from the hard stuff kids!
