engine convertion info please guys n girls

im looking at doing a 2ltr 8v covertion in next few months do the 6ns run the same engine mounts as mk3 gtis ?????? only thing i dont no as iv never done one before to a polo thanks people really appricate it

Im not entirely sure but i think it is a hard conversion, on the mk3 golf the exhuast manifold is on the back of the engine and the 6n exhaust manifold is at the front... i think.. best person to speak to id say is Cymro!!

Mk3 is a tall block too man, best bet is getting a valver engine some bike carbs, cams, manifold and exhaust...

done that on the pug i had ye was fast but want a decent bhp engine to do it too first haha

il rework it if i need be just looking into g40 n its not cheap were i can afford the gti convertion

1.6 16v out of a 6n2, bike carbs, cammed, bore it out, port polish, head skimmed, 4-2-1 manifold, might be a decent out put id think!

Youll really struggle with a GTI... tall block, different mounts, different gearbox mount, different wiring loom, exhaust at the rear... coolant hoses will connect differently, throttle...

Need to think of those things... Daryls idea of a GTI engine from a 6n2 sounds good

Popeyes got the right idea, but which cupra? 20v cupra or a 2.0 16v cupra?? both decent engines by their own standard!
