Stretch - Who can ?

Right folks - where can I get local to fit stretched tyres ?

Asked in a local garage that has a nice nylon rollered tyre machine but he says he wont do it !

Quite a reasonable stretch

165 or 175/50/15 on a 7.5 and 185 or 195/45/15 on a 8.5

These wheels are my pride and joy so I want to be confident that they'll be in safe hands !!!!

Not like the monkeys that changed a tyre on my new 18's about 7 years ago and used a hammer on lead on the front lip !! I nearly cried ! 18's were big money back in them days

i get my mate to do mine, he's got his own tyre machine and balancer, and he's pretty carefull to be fair. I'm sure if you explained to him how much these wheels mean to you, he'd do his best not to mark them. the only hassle he had with my rears was gettin the tyre walls to meet the wheel so that he could pop the bead in place. took a ratchet strap around the tyre in the end (sounds a lot worse than what it was!!) to squash the tyre and push the walls out a bit. Hes just outside penysarn too. I'll pm you his number if you want and you can have a chat with him and see what ya think, or, i'll take you down to his yard so you can have a look at his machine and have a moider with him. up to you mate.

I'd definately mask the edge of the rims though just incase, accidents can happen! but like i said, he is very carefull.

Its a little way off yet, I need to build the wheels up etc and get tyres.

just lookd on your project thread and seen your wheels, had to pick my jaw up off the floor when i saw em.

I hate getting tyres changed, I always imagine coming back to the car with some sort of damage to the wheels. I've used Cefni Tyres (I used to work in Llangefni until recently) in the last 2 years and tbh they've been great. I asked them to please be careful and they did, no damage/scratches at all.

my mate fits tyres, hes a rough foolish alcoholic - he drinks untill he cant move, then wets himself...

hardly a good advertisement but - be ware, smaller more family run places are usually the best, and as far as stretch and where to go i have not a clue.

personally id be hassling that bloke who has refused saying you sign a disclaimer - or better still pay in cash and have no receipt
