| Righty... I talked to matty about this already.. I'm thinking we can make use of these QR Codes seeing as they're on the up and up.. they're 2D barcodes (check my sig) that you can use your mobile phone, to read.. they can hold the following types of info: - URL - Text (Up to 250 characters) - Phone Numbers - SMS (Mobile phone text) Imagine these examples... We make the URL one barcode and have it made into small inobtrusive stickers... and have them stuck on our windows in a certain place.. and going with sticking them on our cars.. you could have the text one made up with the full specs of yer car so that at shows people can come up and scan it and pow, they know it all.. without having to have stupid bits of paper printed off, or even the old classic.. shopping list down the door :p So many uses... aaaaarrrghhh.. | |

| Keith... if you were using the generator I was using... then the code given won't work on this forum because the HTML is disabled (security thing really.. it's best left off)... I had to copy it, put it into photoshop and turn it into an actual JPG :p Lowrider... I'll stick to computers, you stick to building/repairing cool cars hehehe... oh yeah, I've been meaning to ask you about resprays etc.. because my car will need one eventually.. I want the boot, roof and hood done and the arches need doing because they're flaking off on the inside But I know I don't have money laying around for it right now, so that's why I haven't asked yet... AAAAAAAAAAAAnyways... yeah. | |

[ yer thats the reason, it only said it would be much easier to read a paper lamiate & quicker. method of operation for codes1, get phone out 2,swear at phone whist unlocking 3,find application 4,swear at it while the phone locks up/or camera fails to initiate with application 4.5,reboot phone - back to operation (1^) 5,have phone say unable to read code 6,take another photo 7, read info to find it corrupt half way down 8, try again 9, walk over to owner to be anal about his code not working 10, get into discussion about mobile phones being crap 11, get into willy waving contest about mobiles 12, walk off thinking about paper laminates the only real advantage is for the anal brigade who could take details about a car home, log everything in a train spotter method and from the photos then work out the mods etc - rater than looking for big calipers, turbos, chargers. i wouldn`t use my phone in such fashion, ive had one that read these things and still only used it to phone people [shocking i know] your reliant on an event orgainser plugging the method of communication. | |

| Well phones don't have to come with the software on them anymore.. you can download it from the net If anything, it's just the geek in me that likes the idea.. and at the moment it isn't anything more than a gimmick, hehe.. but as I said, they've got it going big in Japan where the codes are on billboards, magazines, shop windows and they've even started putting them on shelf products.. so people go up see the item.. then scan it with their phone to find out more about it.. it'll either take them to the product website or just have a block of informative text | |

| Reader for a couple of phones I don't see a K850 on there though.. and they don't have many samsungs either So yeah... app seems to be that new that newer phones can do it, but not the older ones.. hmpf. I downloaded one for the PC webcam :p but that's a bitch to get to work, 'cause of focus etc.. etc.. BUT it does snap it after about 10secs of fine tuning focus | |
