anyone know about 8v digifant running on individual throttle bodies ??

hey i understand u can run a 16v on ITB but can u mke an 8v digifnt run on them?

and how dificult will it be to gett it running with the injection system and the ir mass sensor

apparently its not a widely done thing as the inlet on the head is on the rear of the engine, right above the exhaust - this poses issues with inlet temps.

i have heard about a crossflow head, but know nothing about it

bit of info here, cgti is the site for tech knowledge on tuning the older cars IMO

fyi you would block the injector ports and do away with AFM

i really want to run it on ITB cause its gived good performance looks nd sounds

itll be a right nightmare to run as a daily you would have to set it up with the seasons and if your sat in traffic the car will soon run lumpy etc.

id go with the 2litre bottom end with big exhaust valve P+P head, can & 4 branch etc - if you want to spend near on £700..

read up on that crossflow - inlet on front of engine, i guess it will be a mission finding the parts - prob the same cost as doing what i said above..

nd if you want to spend £700+ on tuning why not get a donor and go 6 cyl 12v - you will really like that noise

yea ures sounded sweet, i wanted to have a scan on ure engine bay, but id feel like an idiot asking ha ha

i was tempted to bolt in the vr6 but without sycro running gear apparantly theyl ten to understeer more cause the block is heavier :S

yep thats a drawback much heavier on the front end - there is a different way to drive them completely - however a well set up one with decent branded tyres is a bit of a tool...

plus the 145mph top speed (limited by ecu) is cool - which can be extended using a 5th gear out of a diesel - and they are solid enough to charge!

im pretty sure 4x4 syncro gearbox would be good

something i know nothing about - you need a mk2 syncro car and possibly a mk4 4motion box

ya, but theres plenty of room under the car 4 the difs and transfer box,

its like they were too lazy to build a different shape lol

Why not, get a 16V lump and do your original idea ?

thats the key luke. unless your shell is extremely good, something that you could not live without etc etc dont build what you can buy.

a nice clean 8v gti converted to 16v is worth nothing really, where as a nice clean 8v is!!

Its also got something to do with the the programming of the ECU's too. One controls timing and fuelling the other just the fuelling.

Same principal applies to the mk3 polo's, its a lot less hassle putting throttle bodies onto a GT as the timing is vacuum controlled anyway and the ECU only handles the fuelling.

On the 1.1 and 1.3 Spi the ECU handles everything.

Also if you want to run ITB then aftermarket systems like Emerald are your best bet.

ye all true hmmm,

a 16v from the mk3 is a good idea, but 8v engines are much nicer

1.8 g60 is rare and expensive

vr6 = poerfull but heavy

2litr 8v is gd but lack of power,

modding current engine expensive


1.8t amazing,, but expensiveee

so the moral of the story is............................????????
