its a shame tht they never made a 3dr one or a mental one, like 1.8t as stabndard so tht it wd give the mk5 gti a run 4 its money
als one of my m8ts has a citi 1994, u might of seen it in the last meet, bit of a mess then, but its getting better

Pretty sure they did a 1.8T version towards the end ?
edit : Nope I was wrong - it was rumors before the new R-line came out. VW jibbed

Subject: special edition CITI Mk1!! Wed Nov 25 2009, 01:19
Not quite gone yet lads! (and lasses )
"The original Golf Mk1 is back. And it’s better than ever. To bid farewell to the Citi, Volkswagen presents the last 1,000 Mk1 Golf’s ever produced in the world. Individually numbered, the Citi Mk1 represents the end of a 25-year line of Citi models. And with so much history behind them, these special edition vehicles are more than a classic, they’re a collector’s item. Modern Citi features combine with cool retro styling to give the new Citi Mk1 all the character of its predecessor. So if you loved the original Golf Mk1, you’ll fall in love all over again. "
this is a quote of "vw of south africa" website.
there`s a thousand "special edition" ones left.
but its a bit of a long way to go and get one though...
and i dont think there making a 3 door... even though "The original Golf Mk1 is back" bit of a rip off
