Finally pulled the engine out of my passat....all I need to do now is build it up with the new bits and put it in!

Finally managed to get the AAZ in!



Now, please ignore the state of it. It was meant to be much shinier than this, but due to the weather and lack of transport I've just had to throw the engine in- let's call it a test run!

Once the bus is ready for paint, the engine will be coming out again & will be stripped down. Then I'll get chance to paint it all up, and renew any rusty bits with stainless steel items etc





Also bought a few more goodies for it;

Genuine VW Swivel bases for the front seats
South African Lower Grille
Smoked rear lights

Had a bit of bad luck today too. I was tightening up the bottom bellhousing bolts, and the f'kin' sump cracked! So now I've got to get that welded, or find a new funkin' sump! Arf!

Ahh crap man, hope you manage to get it sorted!

Cheers, Nath. It's now sorted. Sump has been repaired and the new gasket has arrived. This weekend it will be running, finally! This car crap is never ending, I haven't even had chance to sort the TVR out yet!

I just need to get the engine down to Austec Racing in Crawley, but I haven't been able to do that because I've had no transport. It's basically going in for a freshen up. I also need to get the suspension dismantled as I want to get the arms and other bits and pieces powder-coated.

Update; Sump repaired and refitted. The thing now runs.

On the downside, the brand new turbo I have fitted leaks oil from around the housing. So I've got to whip that off now and send it back! Arse!

Update: Turbo was returned and re-fitted, engine is running really well now!

I've sold the large plastic bumpers in favour of the older and smaller metal type, I'm just waiting for the new ones to arrive. I also sold the 18" RS4 alloys as I've decided to go for a completely different look with this bus.

I've decided to go for 17" Fuchs...



I also started sorting the body out a couple of weeks back....rub, rub, rub...
