| hey m8 there is a way you can get down to the local halfords and buy some nitro mores and strip the paint off rub them down and respray you will need tyres removed tho as the nitromores will melt them lol or you can go to buckley anamals and get them diped and powder coated for 180ish quid | |

| you can get away with using halfords cellulose aerosols and aerosol laqcuer, but 2k paint would be more durable. A good finish is mainly in the preperation, so take your time!! | |

| Handy!! make sure the wheels are clean before you start, it will make life easier! Rub the whole wheel down with p320-400 grade paper. dont need to go mad, just make sure you get in all the edges and don't leave any shiny bits. If you can get some 3m scotch brite, you can use this to finish the hard to get to places. Clean the wheel with spirit wipe, for this, use 1 cloth (wet with spirit wipe) to clean, and one cloth to dry. Apply primer, i'd probably use aerosol etch primer (available in halfords), start off with a light coat, then two or so decent coats. When dry, rub down with p600-800. Again, you just wanna get the shine off, try not to rub all your primer off, doesn't matter if you go through on a few edges though!! Again, you can finish off with 3m scotchy to get the hard bits. When your happy that everywhere has been rubbed, clean the wheel the same way as before. twice, just to be sure!! your ready for paint. If you do your rubbing down wet, you'll find your sand paper will last longer, and won't clog up as much. A lot people don't bother going through the hassle of priming, and jumpstraight into prep for paint, but thats up to you. This guide is just roughly how i'd go about it, different people have different methods, and i'm sure some people will disagree with me on certain things, but it works for me!! Hope all this helps, and doesn't confuse the hell out of ya! I've probably missed a few things out, so any questions, don't be shy!! phil | |
