Just done a full oil change on the golf, got halfords, 15w40 half synthetic, used for cars from early 80's to early 90's -- also recommended by halfords

Thought this would cure my buzzing and flashing oil light, but no, it doesnt there still giving it shit loads, took it for a drive see if they would work off and alls i leave is blue smoke trailing everywhere

u chnge the oil filter?

u might neeed to take the roker cover off nd clean the oil brather out (common problem)

or ure tappets are fukd

tappets are fine, oil filter is new (got replaced in garage)
Think its just a case of too much oil

id check the breather in the roker cover, after many years it just clogs up with dirty oil, nd causes ure engine to strggle nd causes blue smoke ot da back end

but 70 quid 4 new windscreen is not bad

Did Autoglass do it? I always thought they did it for free but maybe that is just for windscreen repairs.

Could be a dodgy oil sensor. But the blue smoke points to leaky valve guides or HG failing at worse its worn piston rings.


Of course the unthinkable is that its melted a piston due to the Carb.

I get a puff of blue smoke on a warm startup due to a lightly leaking stem seal but nothing while Its running.

Lot of smoke aswell ? could be that sum oil had dribbled onto the manifold causing it to smoke.

The idea i have isnt really a new thing but with bikecarbs being commonplace in the "scene" they are now overdone to death but this idea if it works will take the game to a whole new level and if it works then fun shall occur.

Im sure that someone will have guessed what i have planned before the designs are finished tomorrow afternoon and TBH im not even sure myself if this has been attempted in this country.
