bit far fetched or jesus is on your side I did believe I had a very good Guardian angel that day... Caused by racing a friend, I was overtaking him on the inside of a corner, bus was coming, stamped on the brakes, managed to miss the bus, miss his rear end, but the car was BADLY out of control.. it skidded to the outside of the corner... where there was a petrol station, hmmm.. bad scenario.. so I hit the gas again, caused it to fishtail out and skid sideways over the other side of the road.. that's when I saw the pole coming toward me.. realised I wasn't going to miss it, so just aimed the strongest part of the car at it... the front end... my sideways motion was still so great that when I hit the pole, it spun my back end into a tree... so the scenario when my mum came to the crash to collect me... was backend in a massive evergreen, front end wrapped around a pole that hand then FALLEN toward the car... and was leaning on the tree behind it.. and there were no street lights on for the whole visible stretch of road... :\ Also during the crash, I had only just had two 12" subwoofer installed on a soundboard replacing the rear parcel shelf.. but the installers hadn't clicked the backseat down firmly enough.. so on impact that board weighing a very nice 10kg's+ shot forward.. and I had only raised my headrest the day before... failing to reach my head, it broke through the rear drivers side window instead and then landed contently on the back seat So yeah.. the only one of my accidents that was my fault.. and admittedly I will have lost a little speed from the 150kph I was doing on overtake.. but not really that much.. one important factor here was, I had the car two weeks and it still had the crappy bald tires on it that the dealer put on when he sold it to me.. urgh.

| this is about as good as i can find - a mk1 festa into metal pole https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05B1V6W4jcs
i remember seeing one of these go flying off newry beach in holyhead into the sunken garden - if anyone from holyhead has ever wondered why there is a bank of 3 benches by the far shelter you can blame it on a festa
