diesel filler flap

diesel filler flap on polo wont open, central locking to doors and boot ok

A little pin slides out with the central locking, and locks the flap. workes with compressed air. You can prise the pin back with a small screwdriver as a short term measure. Id change the pump and hope that solves it. Its located in the boot, cant remember what side but you need to take the panel off. Does the central locking seem abit sluggish ?

Thank you so much for your advice. I'll try that tomorrow. Central locking doesn't seem sluggish. Trouble is, deisel is really low as this came to light as I was about to fill up.

this happend to me in shell garage, went to fill up and then the flap wouldnt open on the golf, so im there for around 10mins @ the pump frantically trying to open it, ended up punching it to dent it and make it bend away from the pin, not ideal, but couldnt notice it was dented after :@

in the end i worked out it was the wiring loom going to the drivers door, the wires had split from being opened and closed, jus taped them back together and it worked fine, also fixed one of my rear windows and the starting issues LOL

no probs mate. Happend on the mrs's old 6n a couple of times, but seemed to sort itself out. Maby try spraying some wd40, incase the pin has trouble sliding.
